HOW Inspire: A digital membership for teen girls.
What is it?
A digital social hub for girls aged 11-16 years built on the pillars of HOW: Happiness, Opportunities and Wellbeing. Please join the waiting list below to be the first in line for the next launch or email [email protected] for further information.
What do we do?
The first of its kind in the UK, delivered as weekly live Zoom calls, which are recorded and stored exclusively for members, this digital community for girls is the first of its kind in the UK, and not one to miss. Described as "a digital hug" and “a weekly dose of friendship, happiness and community” by its members and "exactly what young women need right now" by a parent.
The HOW People, founded by GP and mum of a nearly 14 year old girl Dr Jo Watkins and co-founder Polly Crook a design, strategy and spreadsheet guru, is a unique and exciting digital community with weekly sessions connecting girls aged 11-16 yrs to inspirational role models, mentors, coaches and experts.
Growing confidence and resilience while inspiring girls to carve their own path with the help of mentors and role models.
"Follow your own path. Be unique. Be happy being you."
The HOW People
Dr Jo Watkins and Polly Crook
Dr Jo Watkins, a GP and Mum of 4 including a teenage girl, knows first hand about the impact of increased anxiety levels and decreased self esteem in our teens.
Polly is the first to admit that growing up, education was her Kryptonyte. People are always shocked when they find out that the incredibly ambitious, confident, spreadsheet queen they know today, actually left school with only three GCSE's! After finding out she was dyslexic at an early age, those school years were pretty tough. No matter what anyone told her, she always felt like a bit of a 'thicko'.
Jo and Polly are both huge advocates of community, connection and carving your own path in life. They are passionate about guiding, encouraging and supporting the next generation of teenage girls via their growing digital membership platform.

"We are born facilitators and connectors. Making things happen and putting the right people together. Giving girls of different generations role models and mentors within different fields. What unites us both in our very different careers is that it was human connections and conversations, often chance ones, and taking opportunities that made, and continue to make, a difference. The education system is putting our kids in boxes earlier and earlier and often young people just haven’t been exposed to or heard about all the options and paths in life"
A career in action sports, Mum of 2, Beach lover
"The HOW People was born to build confidence. To inspire, support and connect. Showing teenagers that life doesn't begin and end with GCSE’s. To empower the next generation of awesome females. My parent's mantra when my brothers and I were growing up was 'Give them roots, and give them wings'. The understanding that anything is possible when we put our minds to it, to have belief in ourselves and in our goals, and never let anyone put you in a box. Burn the box! Be who you are, be kind, and support each other, the rest will come."
